Industrial Ultrafiltration Systems
Custom UF Systems for Industrial Water Treatment
Industrial ultrafiltration systems are essential for operations requiring advanced separation of suspended solids, bacteria, and high-molecular-weight organics. At EAI Water, we design and engineer ultrafiltration systems to meet your specific water quality requirements. Our team provides comprehensive support, from membrane selection to installation, system commissioning, and long-term performance optimization.
EAI’s ultrafiltration systems are available in both skid-mounted and containerized formats and are suitable for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. These include process water treatment, RO pretreatment, wastewater reuse, cooling tower filtration, and more. Our clients span industries such as food and beverage, metal finishing, energy production, agriculture, and commercial facilities.
With over 30 years of industry experience and a team of engineers, chemists, and field technicians, EAI ensures every system is designed around your feed water characteristics and target specifications. We begin each project with a detailed water analysis and performance modeling, allowing us to anticipate membrane fouling tendencies and operational parameters with precision.
How Ultrafiltration Works
Ultrafiltration (UF) is a membrane-based filtration process that removes suspended solids, viruses, bacteria, and organic molecules larger than 0.01 microns. Using hollow-fiber or spiral-wound membranes, UF offers a dependable barrier for particulate removal and pathogen control. It is commonly used for pretreatment, product water polishing, and water reuse strategies in both municipal and industrial applications.
At EAI, we use Toray, Veolia, and LG Chem UF membranes engineered for long service life, minimal fouling, and high efficiency under varying feedwater conditions. Our systems are optimized to reduce maintenance and operational costs over time.

Built In-House for Seamless Integration
EAI doesn’t just service water systems—we build them. Our ultrafiltration systems are manufactured in-house to ensure seamless integration between your equipment, water chemistry, and performance goals. Each system is fully customizable and leverages Toray membrane technology for long-lasting reliability.
In addition to ultrafiltration systems, our in-house capabilities include:
- Commercial and industrial reverse osmosis systems (10 GPM to 1,500 GPM)
- Proprietary single-precursor chlorine and chlorine dioxide generators
- Modular system designs tailored to flow rate, footprint, and water chemistry
Why Choose UF Over Multimedia or RO?
Ultrafiltration offers key advantages when compared to multimedia filtration and even certain RO applications:
- Superior filtration precision – removes particles down to 0.01 microns, including bacteria and viruses
- Lower chemical use – typically requires fewer coagulants and no flocculants
- Stable performance – unaffected by fluctuations in turbidity or seasonal feedwater changes
- RO membrane protection – significantly lowers SDI and biofouling risk in RO systems
- Compact system design – ideal for retrofit, rooftop, or skid-based installation
