Facility Operator Support
Facility Operator Support
Many clients we work with want to take higher ownership of their facility water management, and look to us to help design training programs for their facilities teams to improve their internal capabilities. We customize our training packages based on your team’s existing skill levels, desired end state, and available time.
The training programs below are a small sample of the programs we can lead for your team:
Legionella Prevention & Safety
The best Legionella Control Plans can fail if the frontline team operating the cooling system on a daily basis is not armed with the knowledge to execute. EAI offers the following components to ensure your staff is ready to maximize your investment in Legionella prevention:
- overview of latest legislative and regulatory changes for cooling systems
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) best practices, including respirator fitting
- Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) Standard Practices
- Operator-level inspection protocols
- Cooling tower circulation techniques during idle time
Water Quality Testing
Our Certified Water Technologists (CWTs) are familiar with the unique closed loop requirements across industries, feedwater sources, municipalities, and tower manufacturers. We will recommend the best balance of chemical treatment, equipment, and in-person service to achieve desired industry water quality. Our staff of chemists and engineers work as a team to bring unique answers for your facility.
Water Softener Programming & Operations
Water softeners are a critical part of many industrial water treatment programs, ensuring that hardness is removed so that downstream equipment is protected and overall operating expenses remain within budget. As part of our onsite water softener assessments, we also offer operator training to ensure that softening operations do not become counterproductive to your facility’s goals:
- Operators understand what conditions would require a control head to be reprogrammed and know how to monitor for important changes such as variations in feedwater quality
- Operators can reprogram control head independently
- Operators have the knowledge to understand when the softener is performing outside of tolerance for salt consumption or regeneration cycles
- Operators are able to perform routine and preventative maintenance that ensure the softener can meet expected service life
- EAI SERVICE PACKAGES FOR SOFTENERS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE
Water Reuse & Recycling
While there are growing calls to increase water reclamation in commercial buildings, doing so onsite drives complexity, uncertain cost, and added operations risk. As experts who have implemented water recycling projects for years across the southwestern U.S., we can help educate you and your team on these complexities, including:
- Regulations governing water reuse, including California Title 22
- Water quality standards that need to be met
- Selecting the optimal end-use for recycled water, including cooling water make-up, manufacturing process water, irrigation, bathrooms, etc.
- Technical overview of treatment train options, including membrane filtration, membrane bioreactors, and disinfection methods
- The capital investment, operational expense, and risk implications of these technology choices
